The rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd sings about a “simple kind of man.”  I would describe myself in that way.

I’m a native of south Alabama, having spent the majority of the last three decades in Mississippi working at a community college and in ministry.  Six years ago, I retired from the community college scene where I primarily taught psychology and logic. My wife, Martha, and I moved back to Alabama to live near her parents on the outskirts of Montevallo, Alabama.

In November of 2023, I agreed to become co-pastor at University Baptist Church in Montevallo while our pastor works on his doctorate. On most mornings during the week, you can find me somewhere on the premises at UBC.

I enjoy a good book, college football, and fantasy baseball.
