About This Blog

This blog is birthed out of frustration.  For some time now, I have witnessed a strange and somewhat unnerving relationship between faith and politics.  At what point have we made the turn, as a society, to where the end product of personal faith and politics concerns what is best for me?  What can I get out of it?  Maybe this turn occurred years ago and I am just now recognizing it.  Regardless, it is painful to watch.  I suppose my writing may simply be my venting.  I offer this space for you to vent as well.

You will be able to know more about where I stand if you view the video that I labeled “Where Politics and Faith Collide.”  I squarely fall on one side of this discussion.  It may be that you fall on the other side.  Regardless, I hope we can dialogue.

When I lived in Mississippi, I was part of a wonderful church for 15 years.  In that small church, there are yellow dog democrats and extremely conservative republicans and those who fall anywhere in between.

Yet, the beauty of that particular church was that, even though opinions differed greatly, the members were still respectful of each other.  At the end of the day, they shook hands and went home.

That is what I envision for this blog.  I will share “Strong” musings and opinions.  You are welcomed to agree or disagree.  But please be respectful in your response.
